Residing in Italy for years, before moving to North Africa, Reverter fixed his gaze on the celebrated Venice Carnival. The appearance of mask and disguise, the inescapable retrogression in time, cancel and dilute the real time of the models and characters, to match with them in the essentiality of a past frozen time. And there is where Reverter’s photographic art turns the baroque into pure minimalism, a kind of metaphor of non-existent identity, suspended in the past, in characters without real history, subject only to their forms.
